Training and Early-Stage Concerns

Some of the many things on the minds of practitioners during Training and in the early stage of their careers are:

How on earth am I going to pay off the $300K-$400K in student loans debt I have amassed? Am I even going to make enough money, and when will I be able to start paying them down?

Do I need disability insurance? I hear it is expensive, and so many people are trying to sell me saying their company is the best? What features and riders in a policy are necessary? When should I even buy disability insurance?

What is the best malpractice insurance for me and my medical or dental specialty?

Shouldn’t I find a job first so I can pay for some of these things later?

Now that I found an employer, they want me to sign this lengthy contract. I don’t understand what it says, but they say I just have to sign it to work for them.

How much of my income should I save once I start working?

I can’t wait to get that nice car and/or house I’ve always wanted once I start working. I deserve it after all this struggling through training. Everyone is offering me loans since I’m going to make a lot of money in my career.

Do I work for an organization as an employee, or buy into a practice so that I can eventually take it over once the owner decides to retire? How do I buy into a practice? Who is going to give me more loans when I am already in so much debt? Which companies have the best rates/service?
